Agency List
Last update: 2/1/08 (In updating this page, I accidentally deleted it and all the comments. My apologies to those whose comments I deleted!)
The agency list can be found below. This list has 9 columns (starting with “Agency” and ending with “Notes”). I’m not computer literate enough to figure out how to make sure the list is completely viewable on all computers. If you are having trouble viewing all the information, you can download the word doc here.
- I won’t have access to these databases indefinitely so eventually this list will become outdated. I also don’t know, as I get further along in my DE process, if I will have time to update this list in the future, but, hopefully it can serve as a starting point for people looking for a donor. If people, in the process of looking for their donor, want to email me an updated count of donors for any of the agencies, I’d be more than happy to update the list.
- This list is a word doc because I couldn’t load it in the original format which was in an Excel file. If you would prefer to view this information as an Excel file, I can email it to you. Leave a comment or email me.
- A few of the agencies allow you to see their donor pool database without a password. Most require one but usually all you need to get a password is to send the agency an email or fill out an online form.
- I’ve included the agency’s location because in some cases, many of the donors are recruited locally (although almost all the agencies work have donors from many different states). This may help you narrow down which agencies to look into first if you are looking for a donor close to you.
- Some agencies update their site frequently. Most others do not. If you are looking for a donor who has donated before and are looking for a hard to find donor, I suggest not searching exclusively for proven donors. When I started asking agencies specific details about donors, several I inquired about had just finished donating or were finishing up their cycle yet the websites did not reflect this.
- This is a list of donor agencies that are unaffiliated with any clinic and so these donors, if they are willing to travel, can usually go to any clinic. Some clinics have their own donor agency, which provides donors only to their clinic. I have not included these agencies.
- Since my own search is for Chinese egg donors, I did not request database access to agencies that did not have any Chinese egg donors.
- If a field is left blank, that means I did not or could not find the information. For example, if there is no number listed under Middle Eastern donors for a particular agency it doesn’t mean that there are no Middle Eastern donors, it just means I don’t know. If there were no Middle Eastern donors, the # of donors would be “0.”
- “Indian” on this list refers to donors who are Asian Indian not Native American. Some agencies categorize these donors as “East Indian.”
- This is not meant to be a comprehensive and exhaustive list. Some of the information on these agencies is only current as of Nov 07. I’m hoping that this list will provide others looking donors, particularly non-Caucasian donors, a starting point in their search if nothing else. Check the “Information Current as of” date for when I last checked the database. If you have more current information about a particular agency and would like to share that information, please email me and I will update the list.
- For most agencies the ethnic categories include donors of mixed ethnicities so that one donor may show up in two categories in this list (e.g. a donor who is Asian and Hispanic will be included under both Asian and Hispanic donors). For other agencies they have a separate category for women of mixed ethnicities and these donors are not included in this list.
- Some agencies list their donors whether they are available for cycling or not, others list all their donors and you won’t know if they have been matched or are in cycle unless you contact the agencies. So, keep in mind that just because a donor is listed does not necessarily mean they are available.
- I can’t guarantee there are no mistakes in this list, in fact, I’m sure there are some. If you come across a mistake, please let me know!
What your mom never told you about finding egg donors:
- If you see a possible donor you like, start contacting the agency. Most are very responsive via email and you can get a feeling for how the agency is run. For example, some require a retainer fee before they do any work for you, others require a fee for viewing their donors (per profile or flat fee) others are quite willing to provide information for you before you pay anything.
- Check the bulletin boards or this site (Thanks Millie!) for feedback on agencies; there are a few that consistently get higher complaints than others. Remember, all these agencies work differently, charge different fees, etc. and agency fees are usually non-refundable. So do as much research on the agency as you possibly can before committing to them. You may also want to check the Better Business Bureau to see if anyone has filed any complaints.
- Oftentimes, the agencies will have previous cycle information (# eggs retrieved, # embryos, etc.) on a donor and will provide this information when asked.
- Most agencies have their fees and costs spelled out on their website. If the information is not there, ask them when you contact them. I have done all my contacts via email and have found that most agencies will provide this information when asked.
- If you are interested, ask for a copy of their agency retainer contract or agency-recipient contract. I suggest getting this information from the various agencies you are interested in before committing to an agency so you understand what you will be paying and when. Each agency has a different timeline for when you have to pay fees, how the donor gets compensated and how much, when and under what circumstances fees/compensations get refunded to you if the cycle doesn’t work out.
- I have also found that some donors are listed with more than one agency, so there is the possibility that you may have a choice in which agency you use.
- Do you have any experiences or advice to share? If so, leave a comment or email me.

6 Jewish donors; at the time I first contacted them, they had no Asian donors. The mother of the woman who owns this agency then emailed me and offered to set me up with IVF in South America with a Chinese egg donor. |
